      The 2018 state convention was very successful and well attended. Tony Wilson was re-elected state president thanks to the overwhelming support of the delegates. The Executive Board welcomes a new maintenance and motor vehicle craft directors as well as a new District 3 & 4 representative. The delegates in attendance also created a new District 6 position which covers zip codes 278-279.

      Fall Seminar will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 1385 Lenoir-Rhyne Blvd., Hickory, NC 28602. Room rate is $91.00 (state you are with NC Postal Workers) Resevations can be made at 828-855-9841.

      Registration will be $60.00 in advance and $70.00 after October 1, 2018.

      In the next few weeks PSEs will be receiving a mailing from the USPS regarding the opportunity to enroll for Health Benefits. Please take the time and look over the documents that are mailed to you. These documents include specific instructions on how to enroll. Please do not wait until the dealine which is October 4, 2018, 11;59 p.m. to sign up.  Sign up period begins August 20th. A copy of the letter you will receive is attached to this article.

      Attached is a national settlement regarding the Workforce Fund which provides additional benefits to our PSE members. We will keep the membership updated on effective date of the agreement. If not implemented sooner the provisions will take effect 120 days from 6/13/18.

      Opening Day is June 26, and it is right around the corner! Are you ready? Join the Town Hall Call to find out what is in the works for opening day of negotiations and how you can get involved! You won't want to miss this call.

      The Town Hall Call will be on June 14 at 2PM and 7PM EDT. (11AM and 4PM PDT)

      APWU national officers will be talking about how you can participate in the events around opening day of contract negotiations, even if you can't make it to Washington, DC.

      To participate in the call, you must register online by 12:00 noon (EDT), on June 13 at www.apwu.org
